| "Seiko" Royal's Timeless Essence CGC
Seiko was a grand ol' gal!    Seiko was our first Akita and started our passion for the breed. She was bred by Pamela Peterson of Royal Kennels. Purchased as a companion, I actually was more interested in obedience than conformation, so I trained Seiko and we went to a few shows together. At only 5 months old at her first show, Seiko got a score of 196 in novice obedience. She was perfect except for her slow sits. Sadly, I later found out it was structural, and Seiko had surgery on both knees for torn cruciates. When she was 6, Seiko developed glaucoma first in one eye, then the other, eventually becoming totally blind for rest of her life. Despite this, she was amazinglhy tolerant of my daughter Courtney whenever she visited my parents. Seiko lived out most of her years with my parent, never being happy in the new house when I moved out with Brian after we were married. She hated Kahlua from the moment we brought her hom, so we all decided she would be happier living at home with my parents. She was completely spoiled her entire life by my mom and dad! Seiko was without a doubt one of the most regal, dignified and intelligent Akitas I have ever known and a great ambassador for the breed. She was the biggest female Akita I've owned, at 27" and 116 lb she was bigger than most males I've had!
